Elf: Elves are magical by nature but the ones who haven’t adapted to the modern world are known as druids, fae, or pixies. Modern Elves now draw their magic from their own body just like mages do. The difference between mages and elves is that elf magic is less potent and not restricted to one branch of magic. Another difference between elves and mages is that elves are better at non-magical combat and are excellent at stealth due to their, generally, small frames and stature.
Demons: There are many types of Demons but Demon is just an umbrella term. Be creative with your demon. Almost all demons have some kind of magical or psychic ability.
Avians: Most humans in the past have mistaken Avians for angels and have looked to them for guidance and as a result, the Avians race has taken up the role of being a race dedicated to the protection and guidance of humans and occasionally, other races. Avians have an unknown length of lifespan but those who have lived for many millennia form suicidal tendencies. Each Avian has a different set of wings than their brethren that resemble one of the many species of birds found on Terra. Be creative with what the wings look like or simply pull a description from a species like the eagle or dove. Either way, what an Avian’s wings look like is entirely up to you. Avians generally rely on their combat training but few of them use their innate ability to make and use runes in combat preferring the use of runes to be a last resort. Also depending on the bird that is chosen for the wings gives the avian an ability that mirrors one of the traits of the bird chosen
Werewolves: Werewolves are humans who transform into a giant wolf. Usually, a human made into a werewolf, and a natural born werewolf, are taught to control their transformations that happen every two months or by emotional instability. The transition from human to werewolf is usually done by mutual agreement but sometimes a rogue werewolf will force the transition. This is done by mixing werewolf blood with the human’s blood either orally or blood transfusion. The werewolf DNA takes over the human DNA over the course of twenty-four hours. Most of the time it’s painful due to the human’s immune response and sometimes the humane immune system wins and the transition is rejected by the human body and the human becomes an Amiska. Werewolves are fast and strong and have no magical ability.
Vampires: Vampires are humans whose body mutated to survive a disease. Vampires also have indefinite lifespan but also tend to get suicidal after many millennia. Vampires prefer to feed on humans but will feed on other races or animals if necessary. If a vampire goes too long without blood, they lose the ability to walk out in the sun without burning. The longer a vampire goes without feeding, the faster and stronger it gets but it also loses its ability to distinguish friend from enemy and is usually put down by exposure to intense sunlight. All vampires have a psychic ability unique in strength to the vampire but lose that ability if they starve themselves. The longer a vampire lives, the harder their skin becomes but the hardening skin also restricts movement. Some vampires have lived for so long they might as well be statues. All vampires share an affinity for the moon and its power over their race. Transition from human to vampire is done the same way as the transition from human to werewolf. The transition to vampirism can also be rejected by the human immune system and human will become an Amiska. The few vampires who are born naturally have a stronger weakness to sunlight. Exposure to sunlight results in them becoming human for the duration of the exposure (which is why naturally born vampires tend to stay indoors during the day or cover every inch of skin with clothes outside) and either burn faster or die from age as their human body catches up with the time they've been alive. Natural born vampires are also stronger than -for lack of a better term- synthetic vampires and have stronger psychic abilities and need to feed only once a month.
Kitsune: A fox with nine tails. Each tail represents a Power. The main tail, or the tail they start out with before growing the others, has the strongest power. Each tail has a different power but is never as powerful as the first power. Each tail takes a century to develop both its power and to full maturity. After nine centuries, the tails stop growing. No Kitsune ever lives past four tails as they are normally hunted by werewolves or skinned by vampires for their beautiful fur. All Kitsune have reddish fur until they have all nine tails. After the ninth tail, their fur becomes gold or silver.
Amiska: A human whose immune system has rejected the transition from human to vampire or werewolf. An Amiska becomes either snake, cat, or dog depending on which transition it rejected. A snake for vampirism or a dog for werewolf and cat for a werecat. The Amiska will usually attack werewolves, humans, and vampires on sight presumably because it is furious that it failed to complete their transition or if the transition was forced, the Amiska becomes aggressive to all races. A snake Amiska will be large as well as a canine Amiska being as large as they were while they were still human. The claws and/or teeth of an Amiska contains a lethal venom that will usually kill humans painfully and quickly (about half an hour to a few hours if an antidote isn’t administered) or paralyze any other race eventually killing the supernatural races by paralysis of the heart or other vital organ if an antidote isn’t applied to the wound within a few hours.
Druids/Fae/Pixies: Druids, Pixies and Fae are elves or fair folk who haven’t adapted to the modern world. All three possess magic that is drawn from nature and is used to either heal plants, trees, and animals or to call on them for combat. Most of the time, they are peaceful and try to avoid conflict preferring to stay away from cities and towns. They all have the innate ability to communicate with animals and will often avoid anyone looking for trouble by imitating animals and scaring them off with predatory or creepy animal sounds. Druids are more humanoid and are about as tall as humans. Fae and pixies are smaller than elves and are more like pranksters. Fae and Pixies also tend to have butterfly or moth-like wings that aren’t really physical. Their wings are more like a manifestation of their magical power and reflect their use of magic. Fae and Pixie magic can extend to the weather while Druid magic can extend towards earth magic.
Mages: Known to be to be very secretive, but very useful when they are needed for enchantments or learning about magic. Each mage can only learn one type of magic, element type, or even stuff like Illusions. Even though they know how to only use one type of magic they pretend and know a lot about other types as well so they often get confused on knowing multiple types of magic. Most mages have a familiar but some prefer to use elementals to channel their most potent magic spells.
Chimera: Like most beliefs a chimera was thought to be animal base but it is really one person with DNA from multiple sources (supernatural or otherwise). They can use different moves depending on where their DNA comes from. Their appearance is also (obviously) affected by the sources of DNA. If they have a creature that they can form into, they can only form into the creature whose DNA dominates their body. These creatures are often captured by elves and druids and tested on to see how more than one source of DNA gets along without ripping the host into pieces. It is hard to find one since they all are hidden trying not to be captured. Most Chimeras in captivity die prematurely and that fact is known by all Chimeras who aren't captured yet, this makes them very cautious and untrusting around anything that isn't a Chimera. Be creative with this race but try not to go crazy. Make your chimera realistic and reasonable. A chimera that has fish gills and human lungs wouldn't make much sense
Banshees: Beings that are neither human nor supernatural. No one really knows where they came from. However, they look completely human. They can sense the supernatural and also predict people's deaths. They are often times not accepted in any society since they are not human but they are not supernatural either. Humans tend to notice something off about them right away and therefor avoid them as much as they can. They scream to ward off enemies as well as call for help. For a human, a banshee's scream fills them with intense dread even though humans can't hear them. For supernaturals, their scream is like a dog whistle. A banshee's scream can only be heard by supernaturals but it is often ignored by them because they aren't seen as part of the supernatural community. This race is often given the cold shoulder, bullied, and even killed for fun or to train new supernaturals (mostly vampires do this.) Despite the human belief that they are almost always female, they actually have as much diversity in gender as humans do. Some banshees are powerful enough to hide their nature and manage to lead a normal life among humans. All Banshees are resistant to magic and have a relatively high tolerance for pain. Banshees have very long life spans and even the oldest banshees don't know how long the life span of a banshee is. Some banshees can manipulate metals and rarely even liquids.
Neko: Anthropomorphic cats. Sometimes they have fur but most of the time they are known to have cat like ears and tail. There are multiple types of nekos ranging from wild cats to domestic cats and anything in between. They are very agile and stealthy. Depending on the cat they can be very playful to very grumpy and mean. Most humans believe that nekos are bipolar but in fact they can sense auras much better than most supernaturals causing them to confuse their emotions with someone else's.
Werecat: Just like werewolves, they are humans who transform into an animal. Werecats are stealthy and agile, they can only form into large cats the size of a werewolf. They are more powerful on a new moon. Often times werewolves and Werecats fight and always seem to be enemies. They try to avoid each other as much as possible and if they can't, normally a fight will break out always ending with one dead or nearly dead. Werecats are known to be more sophisticated and intelligent leaving them hating to hang around other Werecats for they have intellectual fights. Humans are turned into werecats the same way as vampires and werewolves and also run the small chance of turning into an Amiska instead of a Werecat.
