Austin walked out into the sun and put his arm up to keep it from blinding him. In a joking tone he said, "What is that thing in the sky. We need to get under some shade before I burn up."
Austin ran to a tree a few minutes away and motioned for Damian to follow him under the tree.

Damian ran over to the tree and sat down while the dragons flew around and played joyfully "so how are you going to find the metal?"

"Simple, well, simple for me since I'm a metal mage. I just need to be in contact with the ground or in contact with something on the ground, or in contact with anything that might have metal, and use the metal in my hands to act as a magnet of sorts. Or if for some reason I don't have metal in my hands, I just need to focus on what I'm in contact with and I'll be able to sense if it contains metal. I can't sense what type of metal yet but I'm working on that." Austin put his hand on the ground and focused his magic in his hands and a few pieces of metal came rushing toward the surface and attached itself firmly to Austin's hand. He held it up and showed Damian.
"That's how it's done. Hmm, this is lithium. Actually, lithium is great for runes. Would you like a rune, or maybe a few for you and your dragons? You'd have to wear this like a piece of jewelry unless you want the rune in your skin."

Damian shrugged maybe Draco would love a ruin but he would were it like a necklace or something like that" he watched curosuly.

"Uh, ok. How do I hear what he wants, if he wants a rune?"
Austin put his hand back on the ground and channeled his magic again causing more metals to rush up to the surface. This time he got Magnesium, iron, a lot of platinum and a couple pounds of silver and gold.
"Yes! Some silver and gold. I'll store it in my arm for now, the rest... I guess I'll keep it too."
He made each metal into a small compressed ball and slipped it into his body, it stung a bit but otherwise he was fine.

Damian smiled pick up the egg and handed it in Austins lap "why don't you ask yourself."

Austin took the egg and held it upright in his lap "Alright. Draco, is there a rune you would like to have? I have a lot materials to use so there are lot of runes I can make."
A warm light pulsed from the egg a few times each time varying in length.
"I don't understand what it said."

"he likes you, that's what he said" Damian laughed he then grabbed Austin hand and placed it on the left side of the egg. A small bulge seemed to nuzzle Austin's hand a bit "what rune he wants is something to deal with communication. Draco isnt like his brother and sisters he would like to talk to the people he cares and senses."

Austin smiled and took small strips of lithium and magnesium and shaped the strips into a rune of telepathy and encased the rune in silver and gently pressed the rune into the egg and into the growing dragon being very careful not to break the egg or hurt Draco. He also sealed the minuscule hole he made in the egg with some silver.
"The rune should grow in size and power with the dragon. putting the rune on the dragon was the hard part. I'm glad I didn't break the egg or hurt the dragon too much."

Ava flew over and landed in front of Draco sniffing the egg it oddly smelled different and Ava wasn't use to it. She looked up at Damian and Austin and made a clicking noise "don't worry Ava its ok." Ava flapped her wings and chirped some more happily before Zess flew down and tackled her knowing at her shoulder. "so what experiments are you going to do?"

"Silver and gold, when added to a rune, make the rune more powerful. I just want to see how powerful a rune is when gold and silver are mixed and how well they mix with other metals. I also want to see what happens if gold gets rid of, or lessens the allergic reaction some species have to silver. I won't be testing on real species of course, I'll be using a simulator to test the allergic reaction."

Damian hummed and thought for a bit "well be careful when working with them" He said a bit worried about Austin well being as well as everybody around when he tests the runes.

Austin laughed, "Don't worry, my runes have never harmed anyone and they've never exploded on me either. Austin paused to think, "Ok maybe one of my tunes has exploded but only once 12 years ago when I was 5. Now that was messy. Trust me though, even if they did, it'd only be a small non-lethal explosion. Trust me, no one is going to get hurt."

"well that's what a lot of people say about their own magic" Damian stretched "its unpredictable and you might not have done dosnt mean it will" he layed his head on the tree and listened to Ava and Zess bickering about Austin and if they should trust him or not. HE made a small hiss in dragon language to tell them to calm down and stop bickering.

"True." Austin put his hands on the ground again and this time, he extended his area of magnetism a few feet in each direction, making sure to direct the metal in a path that wouldn't destroy the trees or their roots. A second later a few pounds worth of silver and a couple pounds of gold and other metals made its way to Austin. He didn't feel like putting the gold in his body so he made it into a couple of bracelets and put them on his wrists.
"I think that's all the gold and silver I need for now. Do you have anywhere you need to be?"
